Know About Nainital Trip. Do’s and Don’ts !

Nainital is most popular hill station of Kumaon district. It is famous due to Naini Lake, which is located at the center of the town and several other lakes of nearby areas.

Nainital Lake, in the Nainital district called the Lake District of India. It is one of the four Lakes of Kumaon hills; the other three lakes are the Sattal Lake, the Bhimtal Lake and the Naukuchiatal Lake.

Way to reach Nainital by Road from Delhi
Total Distance(301.0 km) via NH9. Use NH 24 (National Highway number 24) From Delhi to Rampur 193 KM(Via Moradabad). Then Use NH No 87 from Rampur to Nainital (Via Bilaspur > Haldwani)

Way to reach Nainital by Rail from Delhi
Nearest Railway station is KATHGODAM (Station code: KGM). Then have to take bus or cab service. From Kathgodam railway station to Nainital distance is 60 KM.

At mall road you can do shopping at the Tibetan Market where you can buy artefacts made by locals. Dotted with shops and shacks of local specialties. Tibetan bags, exquisite scarves, ethnic dresses, intricately designed shawls, woollen mufflers, junk accessories and stylish watches are sold here.
Don’t forget to buy some and include them in your home decor. Bargain to strike the best deal. Best time for visit 5:00pm – 11:00pm.

It is almost end of the Mall road by the side of the Naini Lake. There is clearly visible board for ropeway entry point. On that location, can enjoye beautiful sunset view, horse ride and take experience of go karting.

Naini Lake boating is one of the major attraction of Nainital tourist. You can use different types of boats like paddle boat and rowing boats.
Best Timings for Boating in Naini Lake
1st April to 30th September : 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm
1st October to 31st March : 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Ticket Sale : 11:00 am – 5:30 pm
Charges:
Pedal Boat : Rs. 50 for 30 minutes for four adults and one child
Shikara : Rs. 120 for two rounds for six adults and one child

It’s end of the Naini Lake, have to take left turn for temple. For hint- nearby you would seee Jama Masjid and a gurdwara. Naina devi temple is the precise spot where the eye is believed to have fallen. You can walk around the lake in about an hour – the southern side is more peaceful and has good views of the town.

Zoo: You need to take a separate vehicle available at Mall road to visit the zoo. Per head cost is Rs 30/-. You can it will take 2 hours to visit zoo and return to Mall road.

There are some other hill stations near by Nainital. They are Ranikhet, Bowali, Kausani, Chaukori and some more. However if you have not visited Corbett National Park then it is advisable to take a one day tour to Corbett National Park at Ramnagar.
